About

Slay is a rather simple turn-based strategy game with a medieval theme. The game takes place on an island, which is a grid of hexagon tiles divided up between the 6 players. You must try to capture your enemies' territory, and the goal of the game is to conquer land and control the largest area. There are four types of troops, each stronger then the lesser ones. The weakest are the peasants (displayed as an unarmed man), spearmen (peasants with spear and shield), knights and the strongest are the barons (knight with spear and shield). The troops are upgraded by combining lesser troops. Some tiles contain resources or assets which the players can use to their advantage, like a castle, a cottage or trees.

The game covers many of the basic principles of war, such as the divide and conquer principle, the perils of multi front warfare, knowing when to attack and when to defend, finding the enemies weak spots and protect your own. It is also a game of resource management and risk assessment; for example, barons use up more resources from the territory.
