Silly Polly Beast is an action game that follows Polly, a mute orphan, as she navigates a nightmarish underworld after a failed escape from her orphanage. The narrative unfolds through environmental storytelling, flashbacks, and dialogue choices, which can subtly alter events or lead to failure.

Players explore interconnected areas that combine circular hubs, dungeons, and stylized 2D or comic-inspired sections. Progression involves acquiring new weapons and abilities, managing limited ammunition and stamina, and unlocking shortcuts or special rooms through collectibles. Combat blends side- and top-down perspectives, with mechanics that emphasize timing, positioning, and environmental interactions. Boss encounters often incorporate puzzle-like elements, requiring strategy beyond raw firepower.
