Scott Pilgrim EX

Scott Pilgrim EX is a side-scrolling beat 'em up. Inspired by the Scott Pilgrim franchise created by Bryan Lee O'Malley, the game follows Scott Pilgrim and his allies as they battle rival factions across a time-distorted version of Toronto. The story centers on the abduction of Scott's bandmates, prompting the playable characters to confront three gangs (Vegans, Robots, and Demons) while uncovering the forces manipulating events behind the scenes. The game has a similar style and concept to the 2010 title Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game by a different developer, with gameplay reminiscent of River City Ransom.

The game features seven playable characters, including Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers, each designed around distinct combat archetypes. Characters use light and heavy attack strings, special moves, defensive options such as blocking and dodging, and assist abilities that consume a resource called Guts Points. Combat emphasizes combo chaining, crowd control, and the strategic use of special attacks, while each character's moveset encourages different playstyles such as grappling, zoning, or speed-focused attacks.

Unlike traditional stage-based beat 'em ups, it takes place in an interconnected overworld representing Toronto. Players travel between districts, complete side missions, and interact with non-player characters while progressing through the story. Defeated enemies drop coins used in shops to purchase equipment, badges, and stat upgrades that improve attributes such as strength, vitality, willpower, and agility. These RPG-style progression systems allow players to customize builds and improve characters over time.

The game supports both single-player and cooperative multiplayer for up to four players locally or online. Its presentation features pixel-art graphics inspired by retro arcade games and a soundtrack by Anamanaguchi. The design incorporates numerous references to classic video games and pop culture.
