Samurai Warriors 4

Sengoku Musou 4 is the fourth instalment in KOEI Samurai Warriors franchise. Like its predecessors, it follows historical events from Japan's Feudal era. Rather than having a storyline for each character, the story is divided by clan, each battle having its own set of available characters, with more characters unlocking as the story progresses. All stories eventually lead to the Unification conflict between the Eastern and Western armies, or the Sanada clan story.

In each stage, the player selects two officers that can switch during battle, a system similar to Samurai Warrior Chronicles or the three-man teams found in the Warrior Orochi games. The usual controls remains, but two new moves, the crowd control Godspeed Action, useless against officers, and Secret Musou, which enhances the players attacks and allows the use of the Ultimate Kaiden Musou attack using the spirit gauge.

The game has a set of 55 playable characters, including returning characters from the previous games, even some who were absent in Samurai Warriors 3 as well as three new ones. All characters are available to use in Vagrant Mode, and some generic officers can also be selected as partners. Custom-made characters are also available in Vagrant Mode.
