About
Running Shadow is an auto-run platformer that takes place in a fantasy world where the protagonist steals a powerful artifact, a gauntlet, from an evil sect. The sect then tries to hunt down the protagonist. His actions do not go unnoticed and he is recruited by the local guild of thieves who help him.
The character runs automatically and can be moved between lanes, dodging obstacles, jump and slide. These are also used to attack from different directions during enemy encounters. Along the way coins can be collected as a currency. It is also needed to take turns and during some sections the camera turns, making parts side-scrolling. The game has an inventory system that allows to customize the clothing the protagonist wears and weapons he uses, which improve the ability of the main character to kill enemies and withstand damage. Experience is earned to level up. The character's main statistics are health, defence and rage per kill. Items such as outfits, weapons, garbs, masks and upgrades for the gauntlets are bought using the basic currency, the premium one, or in-app purchases or DLC to support the free-to-play nature of the game. Most of the items can be upgraded multiple times.
During the missions different situations allow the player to take advantage of the main character's abilities and weapons. Rewards for accomplishing the missions are gold and collectible items. Collectible items are awarded on kills as pieces that when assembled together provide a trinket that grant boosts. There are also power-ups such as a shield. Up to three stars can be earned per level based on the performance, providing items and unlocking new levels.
