Rewrite

Rewrite is set in Kazamatsuri, a fictional Japanese city that has undergone a strange transformation: it has been overgrown with trees and flowers almost to the point of turning into a rural area, while still retaining its size and other urban characteristics. Kotaro Tennoji goes to one of the city's high schools, spending much of his time flirting with female schoolmates. However, his life changes when he meets a girl named Kagari, whose story is enveloped in mystery...

The game is a visual novel mostly composed of text descriptions and dialogues superimposed on still images representing locations and events. The player's interaction is largely confined to making occasional choices for the protagonist during "decision points". These choices branch the storyline into several distinct scenarios, some of which only become available after having completed another one before. The game also features a so-called "GPS mode", which acts like a map, allowing the player to access locations and perform extra activities to unlock additional scenario content. Some of these activities are presented as simple mini-games.
