About

Retrowave is a single-player arcade-style driving game. The game places the player behind the wheel of a retro-styled car on endless neon highways, where the objective is not tied to narrative but to endurance, reflexes, and mastery of speed. The player navigates traffic, avoids collisions, and pushes forward across an abstract synthwave-inspired landscape where the goal is to survive as long as possible while setting high scores and accumulating currency for progression.

Gameplay revolves around fast-paced driving with a focus on reaction time. The player accelerates automatically down procedurally generated highways and must weave between other vehicles, roadblocks, and environmental hazards. Points are scored by distance traveled and by maintaining high speed, with crashes resulting in a reset of the run.

Progression is tied to currency earned during each drive. By surviving longer or driving more skillfully, players accumulate funds that can be spent on new cars or upgrades. Different vehicles come with unique handling characteristics.
