About
In Reading Blaster 2000, players assume the roles of Blasternaut, Galactic Commander and/or Spot as they take part in the game show Challenge of the Reading Gladiators. One or two players can play; in a single player game, your opponent is the villainess Illitera.
The Challenge is split into four parts: In Word Zapper, players protect three spaceships from meteorites and letters that don't belong in the word on screen. In Media Madness, players match sound bytes with phrases that describe them in a Concentration-type setup. In Get a Clue, players first identify who in the gallery has the key, and then link similar words together. The Final Showdown is a simple footrace with hurdles and oil slicks to jump over. The player with the most points at the end of the Challenge wins a printable certificate, and a chapter of an adventure with the Blaster Pals. Players can play the Challenge again to win more chapters.
The game is marketed toward children aged 6 to 9, and 3rd grade students.
