About
Project X Zone is the successor to Namco x Capcom, including new and returning characters from Namco Bandai Games and Capcom franchises, with the addition of newly chosen characters from SEGA franchises. Gameplay takes place in a style largely reminiscent of its prequel. Characters, acting as units, must be given commands to defeat the opposing army during battles.
Battles take place on a grid with an isometric view, where units can move freely within the expanse of the field. Player units can be either the customary Pair Units, made up of two characters, or Solo Units, which can be added to battles but only used once within them. Coming in proximity of enemy units gives friendly units the opportunity to attack, entering a versus stage (called the "Cross Active Battle System") where the player may attack through button combinations and call supports to reduce the enemy's health as much as possible until the turn is up.
