Primal Carnage

Primal Carnage is a online-only multiplayer shooter in which humans (first-person) fight against dinosaurs (third-person). The backstory is that a island suffers a dinosaurs outbreak and a human squad has to bring the situation under control. It is set in modern times.

Each faction has five available classes which all have different advantages and skills; humans have also weapons and equipment. While the dinosaurs are mighty and can deal a lot of damage in melee, humans still have enough ways to deal with them - at least if the team sticks together. For example, the human trapper has a net gun which can easily ground an Pteranodon and a human does not stand a chance when a T-Rex gets hold of it, but because the dinosaur is very slow and an unmissable target, a whole team can bring him down quickly. Both factions have to manage their stamina which is used to sprint and jump (some dinosaur attacks also use up stamina) and health (dinosaurs regain it by killing humans or visiting stationary points on the map; humans have to collect health packs). Humans additionally have to watch their ammo which can be restocked at ammo crates.

Originally only playing mode, team deathmatch, was available, but Capture the Egg (a Capture the Flag variant) and Get to the Chopper (the humans have to conquer a linear set of waypoints) were patched in later.
