About
pop'n music 7 is one of the many titles in Konami's long-running rhythm game franchise, and the first to appear on the PlayStation 2. Notes scroll toward the bottom of the screen along nine tracks, and the player must tap the correct buttons in time with the music to play along. Play well, and the "groove meter" increases, but play poorly and it will drop. If the groove meter is high enough at the end of the song, the player can move on to the next song.
Owing to the more powerful hardware, the sound and visual quality has been increased to the same level as the arcade version. This release also includes a new "Study Mode" that teaches new players how to play, and also includes the Battle mode for the first time in a home release. The tracklist is similar to but not the same as the arcade version, and includes more than 90 tracks total including unlockables.
