About
Pokémon Trading Card Game Online is a downloadable massively-multiplayer online trading card game. Players start their adventure at the Game Store, where they are given three starter decks: Grass, Fire and Water. There are four play modes available.
Quick Game is a single player mode that uses a random Theme deck that the player has unlocked. In Trainer Challenge the player faces computer-controlled characters using only Theme Decks. Theme Decks are unlocked by purchasing them either on the game's Shop or through a physical Theme Deck. There are three leagues in this mode, Gold League, Platinum League, and City Championship. The leagues must be defeated in this order. The difficulty is adjustable, with easy, medium, and hard. In Versus Mode, there are three opponent types.
In Practice Battle, the player chooses a deck to play against a computer-controlled opponent and does not count toward a player's ranking. The difficulty is adjustable: Beginner, Intermediate, Hard, and Expert. Next is Player vs Player, in which two random players face each other. The two levels of difficulty are Novice and Expert. Players can earn Trainer Tokens, redeemable currency in the game, if these matches last at least least 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Lastly, there is Friend Battle, in which two players who are on each other's Friends Lists battle. Trainer Tokens can't be earned here. The last mode is Tournament Mode, which hasn't been added yet.
