About
Pokémon Sapphire Version, not to be confused with the official Game Boy Advance game of the same title, is an unlicensed strategy RPG.
The player starts the game with a team of six unevolved Pokémon, and can recruit other Pokémon by winning battles. In battle, the player moves their Pokémon around a grid-based map, and at the end of a turn, can choose to use an item or attack an enemy if in range. A Pokémon can use either a standard attack, or one of four moves that consume SP, this game's version of mana; either way, once an attack has been used, any enemy that is in range can use a counterattack. Also scattered across the map are treasure chests and houses that contain items.
Pokémon gain experience and level up through defeating enemies, and can evolve and learn new attacks once reaching certain level thresholds.
