About

Painkiller: Recurring Evil is a standalone game in the Painkiller series. It includes a new 5-hour campaign with 5 new maps. The maps are more dense than in previous Painkiller games and include more action per square meter. The game also includes a new soundtrack, improved graphics and new environments.

The game is a first-person shooter that takes place in a Gothic environment. It is similar to Quake and other older shooters, where the player has to kill monsters, find secret areas and items. In most of the maps, they have to kill waves of monsters before they can proceed to the next area, where they will meet more waves of deadly enemies.

Continuing the story of Painkiller: Resurrection, the protagonist, Bill Sherman, becomes the ruler of Purgatory and owns the powerful Sword of Seraphim. However, a fallen angel Samael, steals the sword and sends Bill to Purgatory's locations, forcing him to fight many demons on his way.
