Necropolis

Necropolis is a top-down dungeon explorer starring Ms. Lilian Trevithick, a lady adventurer and radical steam technician. During one of her searches, she discovers the infamous Necropolis of Ao and attempts to go through 25 levels. All of these are procedurally generated in design and layout.

Ms. Trevithick can be moved around using the cursor keys. Two additional keys are used: one to disable traps and another to drink health tonics. Deeper levels are accessed by locating and pulling a lever, which opens up a staircase to a lower level. It is however rewarding to fully explore the dungeons, as there are many chests that contain disposable tools (to disable traps), tonics, gold and new items or clothing that enhance the three main abilities: Dodge, Disable and Detect. With improved abilities, it becomes easier to locate and disable traps and survive longer in general.

Only a small part of the screen is used to present the gameplay. On the right side is a section that shows all statistics and at the bottom the atmosphere is enhanced through descriptions of the events written in text.
