About
In Mutant Night the goal is to pass the level from left to right towards the exit in the allotted time. Enemies are endless and numerous, with later levels featuring giant enemies that require multiple shots or power-ups to destroy. Destroying enemies is optional if the player can rush past them to the exit. The game is long but not infinite and after 62 levels ends with credits.
The protagonist is a strange eye-headed creature capable of shooting colored bubbles left or right. The player can also duck and jump, with the jump button also working in the air, lifting the character higher and higher. After the flight the protagonist, having found himself on solid ground, needs a respite and will not be able to shoot and move for a few seconds. There are several levels in the game where the use of jumping in the air is necessary to pass.
The levels are mostly linear, but there are vertical levels, maze-like levels and levels where you can't touch the floor and have to fly from left to right. There are several types of power-ups in the game, located in lilac capsules on the floor at certain places in the level. After shooting at the capsule, a colored sphere flies out of it, after catching it, one or another of the power-ups immediately takes effect depending on the color of the sphere. The power-ups working limited time and can give - increasing the size of the player, making him able to destroy the enemy with a single touch, or the appearance of invulnerable clones of the player playing the role of a living shield against the enemy or ability to shoot a vertical column of bubbles.
