About
Monaco: What's Yours is Mine is a fast-paced stealth game about theft. The game is played from a top-down view and levels are laid out as large, complex mazes often with multiple floors, combining open spaces with narrow corridors. Up to four players can work together as a team to infiltrate, steal and escape. Four character classes are available from the start, each with their own unique skills, and four other ones are unlocked over time. The unique abilities of a specific character can be expanded by choosing tools and weapons that are available to all characters regardless of the class. The game consists of two campaigns. After the first one has been completed, a remixed one can be played at a more challenging level. By going through the missions different storylines about the characters are told. The different storylines can be played in any order as they branch out when new ones are unlocked and the player can choose where to continue.
Challenges to overcome include locked doors, computer terminals, alarms, turrets, guards, police, civilians, dogs, lasers and more. Levels can be taken on directly, with weapons, or by sneaking at a much slower pace. Next to tools and weapons it is for instance also possible to hide in a bush. Gameplay is based on line of sight combined with a fog of war. Parts that are unknown are shrouded in black and what can be seen has a grey layer over it. The first character is the locksmith (blue) who can open locks and safes, and is faster to open ATMs and cash registers. The second character is the pickpocket (yellow) who uses his pet monkey Hector to grab coins from guard. Hectors does not alert anyone and the pickpocket is also faster at hiding in the bushes. The third character is the cleaner (pink) who knocks out unsuspecting enemies and has faster use of the medikit. The fourth character is the lookout (red) who can see every NPC in a level when sneaking. She also runs faster and uses vents, open windows and stairs at a faster speed.
The next four characters are unlocked later on in the game. The mole (violet) digs through walls, and enters secret passages and breaks jewel cases faster. The gentleman (teal) can disguise himself when hidden and uses getaway vehicles faster. The hacker (green) uses outlets to make viruses. He is also faster at disabling cameras and hacking computers. The redhead (orange) charms enemies with a kiss to calm them. Once charmed, they will open doors for her. She is also able to revive team mates faster than others. Most of the actions are performed by moving into something. To activate an object, a certain amount of time is required shown through a clock-like progress bar. A short time is needed to open doors, while hacking terminals, restoring health or hiding takes longer. In multiplayer team mates can be revived.
