Minecraft Earth

Minecraft Earth was an augmented reality mobile game that combined the creative and building aspects of the original Minecraft with the real-world exploration and interaction provided by AR technology. The game allowed players to explore their surroundings to collect resources and build structures on ‘Buildplates’, which could then be placed in the real world at full size for players to walk around and interact with. Players could also engage in AR ‘adventures’ to discover challenges and collect rare materials and items. The game featured a journal, crafting systems, and seasonal challenges, along with social sharing options, life-size scale interactions, and monetization through in-game purchases like rubies for new Buildplates. It was known for its distinctive features such as cross-platform character customization, NFC minifig boosters, and a collection of over 100 new franchise mobs, showcasing groundbreaking AR technology.
