About

Meteos Astro Blocks is a version of Meteos developed especially for the mobile phone platform. This is the second game in the Meteos series, the DS title being the first. The game has been scaled down and features none of the original Meteos planets; this game uses Earth's solar system instead in a game mode called Star Quest. The gameplay is a falling block game similar to Tetris or Bejeweled, the player must form combos by colour matching to launch the blocks into space. The player is limited as can only one block can be moved at a time.

Unlike the original version of the game, it is possible to move blocks horizontally. This is done by switching pairs or by pushing them off the top of a column onto the next stack. Power-ups can be used to clear blocks on land and in the air. There are three challenges on each planet and you can choose from four different events, such as Shoot (launch a number of blocks off-screen), Timed (countdown and a required count), Puzzle (only a limited amount of moves), and Boss (fight an alien monster at the top of the screen). Next to the main story mode there is a separate puzzle and survival mode. An original mode, with the gameplay of the original Meteos where blocks cannot be moved horizontally, is unlocked after completing Star Quest.
