About

Jetstream is the first story DLC for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Initially a commercial release, it was made available for free around the time of the PC version's release, where it was included by default. It is a separate story campaign with Samuel 'Jetstream' Rodrigues as the protagonist, a boss for Raiden in the original game. The events are set before the main game and detail how he came to join the Desperado PMC group. The game reuses a number of levels from the main game, such as the sewers, the building where Sundowner was encountered and a familiar final encounter on the helipad rooftop. The boss encounters such as the alpha Bladewolf unit, Metal Gear Ray, and Armstrong, are also taken from the original game. There are five new VR missions and five data collectibles.

Jetstream has a number of specific abilities, such as a double jump and an air dash. Unlike Raiden he cannot run up walls and stealth kills are also not possible. Generally, his move set is a lot smaller than Raiden's. By holding down a button a power attack can be utilized and enemies can be made more aggressive by taunting them. For defense he has the ability to dodge roll and when pushed against a surface he can launch as flying strike. Jetstream cannot utilize any upgrades, except for some pick-ups that improve health and fuel.
