Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is a 6-vs-6 hero shooter/brawler heavily inspired by Overwatch (which NetEase previously operated in China). Both seeking to control the multiverse, the villainous Doctor Doom and his future counterpart Doctor Doom 2099 have created a Timestream Entanglement. Various universes have now collided, with several heroes and villains fighting both Dooms and each other to restore the multiverse or to seize control of it.

Characters are split into three roles: Duelist, the primary damage role; Vanguard, the tanks; and Strategist, who buff and assist their team members. When Deadpool was added in Season 6, he uniquely has a version for each role, but only one can be on a team in a standard match. Specific characters have unique synergies together, such as Rocket Raccoon being able to ride Groot, providing damage reduction for both.

Game modes include Quick Match, Competitive, Arcade, Players vs AI, and various seasonal modes such as zombie survival or big head match. Quick Match, Competitive, and Players vs AI have the Convoy (payload defense) and Domination (king of the hill) match types. Domination is best two out of three rounds and Convoy in Competitive has at least two rounds, with each team playing both attack and defense. Arcade contains Conquest (team deathmatch, with an additional Kill Confirmed-style Annihilation sub type), Doom Match (free for all deathmatch added January 10, 2025), Free Fight (added September 12, 2025), and 18 vs. 18 Annihilation (big team deathmatch with an option to have 3/4s of the teams be made of AI, added November 14, 2025). Free Fight is a Convoy or Domination match that allows characters to be picked by multiple team members.
