About

Martian Panic is a rail-shooter for 1 to 4 players where your goal is to stop a Martian invasion. The game is set in a retro 50's Americana universe, rendered in a comic book style.

The story takes place across 8 levels such as a classic diner, a drive-in movie theater or the Great Pyramids of Giza. Completing a level will unlock the next one, with all the unlocked levels directly available from the selection screen. There are 3 skills levels to chose from: Cadet, Ranger and Ace.

As in most rail shooters, the players have no control over the movement of their character and can only move their weapon cross-hair to neutralize enemies before they can shoot them. This is done by pointing the Wii Remote at the screen and pressing the B button to shoot or collect power-ups. Switching weapons is achieved by pressing the A button, while reloading is done by aiming downwards off the screen and pressing the B button. Each player will need a Wii remote.

Players can choose between 6 characters to represent them in the game: Jeb the farmer, Bobby the boy, Judy the housewife, Chuck the jazz player, Mr Peterson the salesman and Marsha Ann the cheerleader. The characters will sometimes appear on screen to react to ongoing events.

6 weapons can be collected throughout the game: pistol (basic but with infinite supply of ammunition), scatter gun, laser blaster, lightning gun, grenade launcher and experimental laser.

While playing the game you can unlock awards and content for the gallery that contains concept art, 3D models and cut scenes from the game.
