About

March of the Eagles is a grand strategy game taking place during the Napoleonic Wars with 10 years of conflict in Europe between 1805 and 1820. The game places the player as any of the major European powers of that time: France, Austria, Ottoman Empire, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Russia and Prussia. Every superpower has its own goals to win the game.

Like most Paradox games, players need to make decisions regarding armies, production and diplomacy, whilst also managing logistics. Just as it was historically correct, France is the dominant land force, whilst Great Britain has the dominant fleet. The main part of the game is to form coalitions. The dominant land force and sea force lead the to coalitions. But coalition leaders can be changed by conquering more regions through military acts or diplomacy.

The traditional technology trees in this game are replaced by ideas. Ideas mainly work the same as researching technologies, but idea points have to be gained first. These can be obtained by winning battles and taking over regions. Multiplayer features battles of up to 32 players.
