About
Love Live!: School Idol Festival is a Japanese rhythm game featuring idol pop songs from the Love Live! franchise. It also contains in-game collectable cards featuring the girls from the franchise that can be contained via "loveca stones" ("love gems" in the English version), which can either be earned as in-game rewards or purchased with real money via the app store.
There are four levels of song difficulty: easy, normal, hard, expert. Easy-hard difficulties are available all the time, whilst expert songs rotate on a scheduled basis. The game also includes several different types of "events": token event, score match, medley festival and challenge festival which contain special cards. While a song is played circles are sent out from a music note in the center of the screen. These move to one of the portraits of the girls surrounding the note in half a circle. The player needs to tap the circle exactly at the moment as it moves over the portrait for a perfect action.
A major update to the game was released on July 5th, 2016 that includes major UI overhauls and the inclusion of the franchise's new group, Aqours.
