About

Loop Hero is a deckbuilding RPG "roguelite" (games somewhat similar to Rogue, in that they have randomized level structures, enemies, and items). A lich has destroyed all of reality and has turned the universe into a black void. The player character finds themselves still alive and with the mysterious power to bring the environment back into existence by "remembering" them. The player soon meets new friends and enemies and embarks on a quest to kill the lich and bring the universe back.

Every expedition starts the hero on a looped path, which they walk around and fight monsters on automatically. Defeating monsters and passing by structures grants the player equipment as well as environment cards randomly pulled from their deck. Changing equipment boosts the hero's stats, whereas using cards places various environments into the world, which affects what monsters will spawn for the hero to fight. The player can choose to end the expedition early in order to avoid losing loot upon death or they can fight the boss, which will spawn after enough cards are placed.

After an expedition, the player can manage their camp. Building camp structures and supplies gives small permanent bonuses as well as access to new cards, classes, and items. Characters that the hero meets on an expedition may react differently depending on what class was chosen.
