About
Liberty's Kids is an educational game for children aged eight to twelve based on the PBS Kids animated TV series. It teaches children about the American Revolution by letting them become a reporter for The Pennsylvania Gazette. As a journalist you need to cover the clash between the Patriots and the Loyalists and report the facts. This is done through several animated sequences. Players listen and observe the characters and then compose reports and articles by reporting the five W's: Who, What, When, Where, and Why. That information needs to be gathered by interrogating the characters, but it is up to the players to link the information with the correct question. A printing feature then allows players to construct a front page story.
There are seven events in total that can be replayed from different perspectives to develop an understanding of the events surrounding the birth of a nation. Events include the 1773 Boston Tea Party or Concord & Lexington in 1775. Characters include George Washington, Samuel Adams, Abigail Adams, Phillis Wheatly, Thomas Jefferson and Paul Revere among others. The game also includes several mini-movies from the television show, a reference guide of important people, places and events, an exploration into Ben Franklin's inventions, and about 20 printable puzzles, games, and quizzes.
