About
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a single-player and multiplayer action game. The game retells the events of all nine numbered films in the Star Wars saga, presenting each as its own episode that can be started independently once unlocked. Players follow the actions of characters such as Jedi, Sith, smugglers, and troopers as they move through locations across the galaxy. Each episode follows its film’s broad narrative outline through short missions and free-roaming hub areas, and objectives usually involve tracking characters, infiltrating bases, or retrieving important items while the larger conflict between the light and dark sides unfolds.
Moment-to-moment play focuses on combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Characters use melee attacks with lightsabers or improvised objects, and blaster-wielding characters rely on a cover-based shooting system that lets them aim freely. Force-sensitive characters can lift objects, throw debris, or manipulate environmental devices to progress. Flight missions place the player in starfighters and other vehicles, shifting gameplay to open-space dogfights or structured pursuit sequences. Progress in each mission earns collectible studs and bricks that are used to unlock new characters, ship types, and upgrades.
The game organizes its large roster into classes. Heroes, villains, scavengers, droids, and other archetypes each have abilities that determine how they interact with obstacles. Scavengers can construct special tools, Jedi can perform Force lifts and mind tricks, and astromechs can access locked doors or terminals. Collecting characters is a key form of progression since certain puzzles or optional routes require a specific class ability. A shared upgrade system allows classes to be strengthened by spending bricks and currency to improve traits such as durability, special moves, or navigation tools.
Exploration takes place within small open areas linked by a galaxy map. Each planet features side missions, hidden collectibles, character quests, and environmental puzzles that encourage repeated visits. Many puzzles can be solved in different ways, allowing players to use brute force, class abilities, or constructed devices to reach objectives. Some segments feature simple stealth elements, requiring disguises or quiet approaches to avoid detection before triggering a battle.
The title supports cooperative play in a local split-screen format. Two players can explore freely, solve puzzles, or complete missions while sharing progress and unlocked content.
