About

Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan is an action game set in a fantasy universe based on an ancient tale of Celtic mythology. The developers describe the game as Celtic-punk, a fusion of Celtic influences and steampunk aesthetics. It is set in a future version of Ireland that has been ravaged after an economic collapse and a technomagical war. The few remaining survivors hang on to the last remnants of technology to survive. The protagonist is Ku, a twelve-year-old boy and unwanted orphan child who volunteers to retrieve a technological artifact that has been stolen by some creatures.

The game follows a linear structure where Ku visits different environments, solves puzzles and fight creatures. He can be moved in any direction, he can dodge roll and he attacks with an ancient sword where slashes can be combined into chain attacks. Later on he acquires a metal glove used to shoot a ball that can stun enemies momentarily. There are often small puzzles through the manipulation of objects, small side quests, different directions to explore, and optional objectives such as pages of the character Dicuil that can be collected. Health is replenished through enemies that leave behind potions or by standing in a fairy circle.

Next to the main story there are four survival combat arenas that are unlocked gradually.
