About

Jumpman is a puzzle platformer made to look like a Atari 2006 or Apple // retro game from the early eighties, but with modern gameplay techniques. Where those classic games consist of static levels, one after another, in this game the entire set of levels is envisioned as a full world. That way, it is possible to see the next levels in the backgrounds, stretching into the distance.

Basic controls allow the player's character to move around and jump, but there are also keys that can rotate the worlds. Puzzling is introduced through having to rotate levels, avoiding enemies or crushing them with giant yellow balls. In later levels, a gameplay session is mirrored multiple times in the same level, bombs make part of the scenery explode, and there are zones where you cannot rotate the level or only in a limited fashion. To exit the level, a blue sign needs to be touched. There is an unlimited amount of tries per level and progress is saved automatically.

Next to the main game there is also a playground to toy around, and a full level editor.
