Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony

Jamestown: Legend of the Lost Colony is a scrolling shoot 'em up game set in an alternative 17th century on the British colony of Mars. In the game the player must fend off contesting Spaniards and indigenous Martian lifeforms in order to regain the favor of the British monarch.

The player starts with a single ship, but can unlock three more at an in-game shop. Each weapon has a different primary and secondary fire mode and universal "Vaunt mode", when Vaunt is activated the ship gains invulnerability through a shield for a couple seconds and then as long as the player keeps the ship's Vaunt meter for fully draining a multiplier for all scores gained. Money is earned by playing levels, the more points the player receives during a level, the more money is gained. The player can replay levels whenever he or she wants to earn additional money.

To progress in the story mode the player is at certain points forced to finish previous levels at a certain difficulty to advance. Aside from the story missions there are also 20 challenge missions which reuse enemies and backgrounds from the story missions but have specific challenging goals such as to survive for 5 seconds or gain a certain amount of points.

The game hovers in between conventional side-scrolling shooters and the "bullet hell", alternating between the two styles of play during levels. The game supports local 4 player cooperative multiplayer.
