About
This game takes place in France during the medieval 14th century when the Holy Inquisition reigned over the populus and poverty and wide-spread hunger were common place. During this time in history, simple survival (and your next meal) depended upon your skills in stealth, cunning and weaponry.
You play the part of Matthew, a common thief who is captured by the city guards and thrown into prison to await punishment. While trying to escape the prison, Matthew finds out about the so-called "Treasure of the Templar Knights" and becomes involved in a quest to find it.
Stealth and fighting are a major part of gameplay as you wind your way through the treacherous streets and underground sewers beneath Paris. Only by using various weapons, lock-picks and other thief tools will you be able to dodge the numerous sentries and other menaces lurking about. You will be sneaking between homes, jumping from ledge to ledge, picking locks and the pockets of unsuspecting victims. The tiniest mistake could mean your death.
As you advance through the levels, enemies become more numerous and more difficult to beat. The Windows game is controlled completely by keyboard and no mouse support is provided.
