Idola: Phantasy Star Saga

Vandor is a far-off, mystical land populated by six races: the Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Demonics, Machina, and Lycans. According to legend, a century earlier, Vandor was attacked by an Eldritch Abomination identified as "Dark Falz," which was overcome with the aid of the enigmatic "Starlord" who came down from the heavens and left just as unexpectedly.

Now there are two main forces in battle around Vandor: "Law," the governing caste that uses the Runes passed down from the Starlord and imposes their rule heartlessly upon the people; and "Chaos," who fuel their bodies with the Crests' taboo magic and pursue lives of reckless independence. Moreover, a number of citizens have the incredible power to turn themselves into fearsome titans known as the "Idola".

After a young sailor, Ulysses (aka "Uly"), is trapped in an Idola's assault, he is drafted into the Aries Knights, a benevolent group of wandering heroes recruiting both Law and Chaos groups to defend the innocent from any Idola that loses power and rampages. With the aid of Stella, the freshly appointed ruler of Aries Knights, Uly embarks on a worldwide search to decide the destiny of Law, Chaos and Vandor itself.
