About

Hero Siege is a fast-paced, top down action game with roguelike qualities. The player will choose one of several classes; Viking, Redneck, and Nomad are melee focused; Pyromancer, Marksman and Pirate are ranged fighters. While creating a character, it is also possible to enable hardcore mode which toggles permanent death, otherwise your character will be available to use at it's currently skill level even after dying.

The game is structured in waves, with each wave of enemies growing in difficulty and numbers. Every 6th wave a challenging boss monster must be defeated. After each 30th wave is defeated a new act is available to the character being used. The map where the player starts is randomly generated, but is not maze-like it instead resembles an out-of-doors area with a theme for each act; the first act is forested greenery, the second act is fields of snow and ice, and so on.

At the beginning of each wave chests, traps, and decorative obstacles matching the theme of the current act are randomly placed. Randomly chosen enemies flow toward the player from four directions; when the wave is cleared of enemies the player has a few seconds to upgrade the character if possible.

Coins and treasure collected during play can be used to purchase temporary status upgrades for the character, but these do not remain after death. Skill points awarded to the character after each level can be used for permanently improved statistics which do remain after death.

Relics are objects that can be discovered during game play and many of these offer temporary statistical boons to the character; after death all found relics are lost. The passive power of relics are also cumulative, it is possible to benefit from several relics. Some active skills can be gained through the character skill tree or finding objects, many of which have a cool down time. Each class has it's own unique skill tree.
