Hachiemon

Hachiemon and his friends are having a lovely day on Hachi Isle, when a strange incident occurs. The friends that came to play with him have suddenly lost their lips! Without lips, eating and talking are difficult for them. Time for Hachiemon to be a hero and get everyone their lips back!

Hachiemon is a 2D platformer starring the titular egg-shaped character with big red angled lips. He can use his lips in various ways, throwing them like a boomerang or grabbing onto walls and platforms, even slingshotting himself. Some enemies can be stunned temporarily by giving them a quick smooch with his lips. He can also roll to attack, but rolling for too long makes him dizzy. Many enemies, obstacles, and occasional boss fights stand in the way of his quest for the lost lips.

The Hachiemon character was originally created as an advertising mascot for the TV station KTV (Kansai Television or Kantele for short). In game, Hachiemon sometimes exclaims "Kantele" (カンテーレ), like on the title screen or when pushing the left shoulder button.

Hachiemon comments on some events, like pausing, smooching or getting hurt, with voice clips in which he has a comically deep and expressionless voice.
