Gothic 3: The Beginning

Gothic 3: The Beginning is a role-playing game set 140 years prior to the first game in the series. The player takes control of Xardas, who is visited by a ghost named Buthomar. Buthomar tells Xardas to find the four chosen ones and restore the sealed magic to the island of Khorinis.

Aside from the main quest, the player can take on side quests and use magic or melee combat to defeat enemies like hostile wildlife, orcs and trolls. While moving from one place to another on the maps, the player encounters enemies they can choose to fight or ignore. As the player levels Xardas up, more powerful spells and weapons become available.
