About
Gems of War is free-to-play tile-matching game similar to Puzzle Quest which adds RPG elements to a tile-matching board game where you can battle AI opponents and other players. Tiles can be matched up from at least 3 to more identical tiles in a row or column. While three is the basic requirement for the next turn, matching four identical gives you another turn, and matching three skulls attacks the enemy directly. The player can fight against multiple opponents at once, most of which will fight back, so whoever's health reaches zero first loses the match. Experience points for leveling up may still be learned even in a lost match.
After tutorial match, the player gets to create his or her hero character which can be male or female, and from one of the six available races: elf, gurakk, human, naga, raksha, and wargare. The setting takes place in a fantasy world of Krystara where you can conquer other kingdoms (the player must level up to a certain level to attack specific kingdom) which will in turn open new quests and grant you new troops. Your troops can be upgraded, various weapons collected and used against your enemies, and you can join a guild to team up with other players.
