About

Gearz is an Action-Puzzler, where you have to place gears at the screen, connecting the start gear (Drive Gear) with the end gear (Target Gear), before time runs out.

When you start a level, you will see the playfield (a geometric figure in the screen and on one side extending beyond the screen) and the starting gear. The screen is centered at the start gear at this time. At the bottom of your screen, you have five gear holder, from where you take a gear, then you see where you can place it.

Once you placed your first gear, the level starts by slowly (or fast - depending on the difficulty and level) scrolling in direction of the end gear. When your gear chain drops out of the screen, you loose a life. But as soon as you reached the end gear, you completed the level and start the next one.

There are three different kind of gears in the game, depending on what you use (small, normal, or large), the next placeable positions may change, either resulting in dead ends or may slowing down your progress. The problem here is, that you don't have unlimited gear elements, so you may run out of available gears. To counter this, you have to reach bonus gears. You can also use bombs to destroy dead ends.

For highscore purpose, you goal is to create a gear chain as long as possible with only one color.

To help you pass through the levels, there are power ups in the game, which effects the scrolling of the screen (Slow, Pause, Reverse). The other type of power ups is for the score (Multiplier).
