About

Frogger has been cursed with a spell that forces him to move to a mysterious beat. Now he needs help to find Toadstein's castle so that the spell can be broken.

Frogger: Beats n' Bounces takes the original Frogger concept and makes a rhythm action game out of it. The game scrolls vertically and Frogger automatically jumps forward. Since Frogger is cursed he can only move in time with the beat. The player's role in all of this is to direct Frogger left and right so that he doesn't crash into the various obstacles that lie ahead of him. To succeed with this the player has to follow the beat and make the moves at the right time. Frogger can also use his very long tongue to eat insects (flies, butterflies and dragonflies) that he comes across. This also can only be done in time with the beat. Since it often can be hard to hear the beat in the music, the player can also follow it with the interface that flashes for every beat.

The player scores points for every lane change as well as for every insect swallowed. When making five correct moves in a row the player enters crazy mode and scores double points. Frogger has an energy bar that decreases when colliding with an obstacle. By eating butterflies and dragonflies, energy can be recovered.
