About

Fingered is a short 'whodunit' type of game where the player has to identify a suspect in a police lineup based on hints of a victim. The game consists of 21 days and each day a suspect needs to be identified successfully. There is only one continue and after a second mistake the game is over. The victim provides four hints telling something about his appearance (smart, rich, sporty, height, style, hair etc.) and then the player can compare and release people to finger the one that fits the description. It is not necessary to first release all the redundant people, the correct one can also be chosen right away.

The victims will use words like 'positive' and 'definitely' when they are absolutely sure (marked in green) and 'I think' will be used as a phrase when they are only 60% sure (marked in red). Each new day makes it more difficulty to identify the suspect, as some victims will say exactly the opposite, tell half truths or will use vague synonyms to explain what they actually mean. Some days also add a timer and when time runs out one of the remaining characters is automatically chosen. After 'fingering' a suspect the player needs to flip a switch to activate an electric chair. The results (guilty or not guilty) then appear in a newspaper article. A large amount of the game content is randomized for each session. The game contains an international crime database where any first and last name can be entered to view the (fictive) personal crime history of an individual.
