The Ancient Rome game takes the time management Farm Frenzy games back to the glorious days of the Roman Empire. The player takes control over a young woman called Scarlett, who supports the roman troops with food. In each level a certain amount of goods, animals and / or gold must be collected.

The most basic resource is water, which is need to plant grass. The grass is used to feed the animals on the farm which will produce raw materials. The player have to collect the raw materials in time (otherwise the will vanish) and put them into the storage building. Afterwards the raw materials can be sold at the market or, with the right building, are used to produce more valuable goods which are sold for a higher price at the market. Some raw materials cannot be produced and have to be bought in the city. From time to time dangerous "bearbarians" appear which attack the farm animals. The player has to have to click on them several time to lock them up in cages. This cages can also be sold at the market.

Each completed level, even the replayed level, will provide the player with stars. Each building and each upgrade can be bought with these stars between the levels. There is no time limit for the levels, but completing the objective within a given time will result in a higher ranking which is awarded with more stars.
