About
ExerBeat is a rhythm-based fitness game in which the player must mirror the moves of the in-game instructors. There is a total of 155 exercises, covering 8 categories: Aerobics, Hip Hop, Latin Dance, Boxercising, Karate, Karate Forms, Yoga/Pilates, and Stretching.
During the exercises, the arrows that appear on screen represent the workout moves to make. The player's accuracy in reproducing the moves is rated as OK, Close, or Miss, with Rhythm Points only awarded for the first one. At the end of an exercise, the results screen will list the Rhythm Points, Longest Combo, Success Rate, Ranking, and will potentially award a Bronze, Silver or Gold medal.
The player is also given the option to create their own personal program based on their workout goals, trouble areas, and workout time.
On top of the exercises themselves, the game provides an "Around The World" mode where the time and Rhythm Points of the workouts are translated into miles. Those miles allow the player's Mii to travel across the world and visit successive cities and landmarks.
The game also includes a set of mini-games that are not strictly related to fitness training: Swimming, Dance Fever, Pizza Toss, Wall Smasher, and Pirate Attack.
Up to two players can exercise alongside each other, each using either a single or two Wii Remotes. The Pirate Attack game requires a Wii Remote Plus or Wii MotionPlus accessory. The Latin Dance exercises support an optional Wii Balance Board.
