About

When the Embers fell upon the world, they brought not only great destruction, but also a source of power. Yet while the other races desired to exploit that power, the Druids studying them realized that the Embers were in fact living beings, for which reason they refused the others' demands for access while they tried to better understand and strengthen their bonds with them, becoming known as the Lightbringers. Unwilling to wait any longer, the other races united and started the war which only ended with the extinction of the Lightbringers, as well as that of the traitorous Darkbringers.

Thanks to the energy provided by the exploited Embers, an age of prosperity followed, yet Embers used in such a manner die and they are becoming more and more difficult to replace, the mines drying up. What's more, if the loss of the source of energy that society is based on wouldn't be enough, some believe that the fate of the Embers is bound to that of the world at a deeper level, their imminent extinction certain to have even more disastrous consequences. For this reason, the monks of Radiance have attempted and successfully completed a ritual resurrecting one of the fallen Lightbringers.

Ember is an isometric RPG where the resurrected Lightbringer explores a diverse, open world and battles various enemies in an attempt to restore his powers, discover the truth and solve the Ember crisis, aided by up to two fully controllable companions. Character development is light, only offering the choice of which of the four attributes to raise, the up to three active and two passive skills that each character may have being determined solely by equipment, though runes may be used to fix a desired skill on a piece of equipment. There is no level cap and experience gain from kills may be boosted by sleeping regularly but not too often. Equipment, as well as consumable items, may also be crafted, crafted items usually being better than any that may be bought or found. The combat system is real time with pause, commands being able to be given while the game is paused, those involving movement or the use of skills being executed as soon as it is unpaused.
