Earth Defense Force 2017: Portable

An extended remaster of the third-person big-monster-shooter Earth Defense Force 2017. Earth is invaded again (but for the first time, since EDF2017 is a reboot), and it's up to the player to blow up enough huge insects, monsters, and spaceships to discourage them.

Players deploy to a mission with two weapons (selected from up to hundreds), and ammo is always infinite, though most weapons still need to reload. Enemies are large and plentiful, with those smaller than an apartment building dying in droves. Upon dying, they drop 2D sprite pickups for health, armor (permanent +1 health upgrades), and new weapons. Up to 4 players can play co-op online.

Compared to EDF2017, this version of the game has a few extra levels and weapons, and an unlockable extra character: the Pale Wing from Global Defence Force/Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space. She can jetpack around and uses energy weapons, which drain the same energy source as the jetpack does. It recharges when not used, and draining it completely will leave you without the ability fly, or to reload or fire most guns. The default soldier character uses more typical weapons that fire bullets or missiles.
