About

In Dreamworld Pogie you control Pogie the Fluffle, who first appeared in the Dizzy game series as Dizzy's pet. In this scrolling platform collecting game, your goal is to travel through the 15 levels of Candyland, searching for the exit portals, whilst avoiding contact with the inhabitants. You can optionally collect sweets for points and stars, of which 100 will give you an extra life. Movement is simply left, right, and jump. You can use rising bubbles or mushrooms to reach higher places and collecting a 'Fizzola' temporarily gives Pogie extra speed and invincibility, useful if you want to speed run the level without bothering with the collecting. Touching any eggs you find will create a respawn checkpoint. There is no in-game timer, so it can be played at your own pace. There is an alternating 2 player option, whereby the 2nd player controls the female Fluffle, Rosie. In this mode, if you die you must collect all the stars again, unlike in 1P mode.

This game was written by Philip and Andrew Oliver in 1992 but not released due to the publisher, Camerica, going into administration. The source code of an almost complete build was later rediscovered by the twins in 2011 and a prototype demo was created and released online. In 2016, Team Yolkfolk finished the game and a crowdfunding campaign for a cartridge version was successfully funded. The completed version was also made available for free online. It has since been included on the Oliver Twins Collection cartridge for the Evercade.
