About
Jaws of Hakkon is a downloadable content pack (DLC) for the 2014 game Dragon Age: Inquisition. It contains a new region called the Frostback Basin, an overgrown wilderness full of dangerous animals and both friendly and rival Avvar. The Inquisitor travels to Frostback Basin in search of the last Inquisitor, Ameridan, who vanished around 800 years ago during the Second Blight. The Inquisition establishes several bases, some in the treetops to avoid confrontations with the Avvar and animals below.
The Inquisitor recruits the friendly Avvar, quickly learning that the Jaws of Hakkon (the rival Avvar) are rival to everyone and are up to something big. It turns out the Jaws of Hakkon are trying to free a captured Dragon, which the Avvar during the Second Blight succeeded to put one of their gods in. Eventually the inquisitor learns that the Dragon, named after their god Hakkon Wintersbreath, had been captured by Ameridan, which sealed them both in stasis with time magic.
The Inquisitor foils the plans of the Jaws of Hakkon, but their efforts have weakened the magic of Ameridan. The last task awaiting the Inquisitor is to kill Hakkon Wintersbreath and save the Avvar people of south Thedas.
