About

Don't Look Back is a moody platformer, entirely drawn in a colour palette of black and red, with parallels to the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice from Greek mythology.

Starting at a grave, players control a character who ventures into the underworld to bring back his lost love. The controls are basic, with arrow keys for movement and jumping, and an additional key to shoot. Rather than side-scrolling, it is a fixed series of screens and when failing the character immediately restarts the screen, with an unlimited amount of tries.

To progress, classic platform obstacles need to conquered, including disappearing platforms, moving objects need to be dodges and there are opponents to be shot. Every now and then, a larger enemy appears that requires multiple hits to be taken out.
