Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 is a single-player and multiplayer action survival game. The story takes place in 2021, ten years after the events of Dead Rising 2, in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California. The player assumes the role of Nick Ramos, a custom-vehicle mechanic who arrives in the city shortly after a new zombie outbreak sweeps through. As the infection spreads and society collapses, Nick must fight his way through hordes of the undead and hostile survivors to escape the city and uncover the truth behind the outbreak. Time is a constant pressure: the narrative spans the first three days of the outbreak, and during this period Nick must scavenge, survive and complete key objectives before his window to escape closes.

Gameplay focuses on open-world exploration and zombie combat. The game features a large sandbox area in Los Perdidos, where the player can roam freely, collect weapons, craft items and vehicles, and respond to random emergent events such as zombie hordes or survivor rescues. Combat allows use of melee weapons, firearms and improvised tools and emphasises chaining kills to build high scores and unlock new gear. A key mechanic is the "Score Attack" system: achieving combos, creative kills and high destruction yields survival points that convert to experience and unlock perks. Vehicles play a substantial role: Nick can drive, modify and weaponise a variety of cars and bikes, turning them into mobile zombie-killing machines. Progression unlocks new weapon tiers, vehicle types and combat perks as the player levels up.

Multiplayer mode supports two-player drop-in/drop-out co-op in the campaign world as well as an overtime mode called "Nightmare Mode", which starts after the main story and introduces tougher enemies and more challenging game mechanics. Co-op partners share the same world instance and can join regardless of individual story progression. Sandbox features include crafting benches, vehicle upgrade stations and a safe house that evolves as the player progresses through the three-day timeline. Bonus objectives, timed missions and a persistent world state encourage replayability.
