Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince is the second game in the Dark Parables series that has the player taking the role of The Detective. Each new addition to the series is a loose derivative of a parable or fairy tale with this installment based on the Frog Prince. Somewhere in Germany's Black Forest the Chancellor's daughter and her bodyguard have vanished. This particular region of forest is the domain of the Frog Prince which is currently the prime suspect in the case. Your objective is to enter this region of forest to help find the Chancellor’s daughter and return her to safety. The territory controlled by the Frog Prince contains many obstacles and puzzles which must be overcome in finding the solution to this mystery.
The game style in the series is similar to hidden object but replaces traditional words with fragmented objects to be found. The object(s) from the scene once assembled are added to your inventory and are used in solving other puzzle elements of the plot/story. Another feature as in the previous game are ‘cursed objects’ that provide a bonus of faster hint button recharge. These objects are scattered throughout the game and flip or morph in appearance blending with the scene theme. An example of morphing objects might be a table with a glass of tea which morphs into a cup of coffee. Finding these objects only comes with careful observation or noticing the object morph while it is in your direct line of sight. Movement in the game is through on screen touch points indicated by direction arrows.
