Dark Dimensions: Wax Beauty

Dark Dimensions: Wax Beauty is a tale of sibling rivalry that has turned evil and beset an entire town. Luciana Costello is a young girl who dreams of winning a local pageant to collect its prize of a scholarship which will help loft her out of the town and lead to a blissful life. Her younger brother Sebastian is filled with anger and jealousy. Sebastian has his own plans to sabotage his sister’s path to prosperity and is determined to succeed at whatever the cost. Sebastian seeks employment locally at a printer and wax museum. Soon after people begin to notice changes in his behavior that point to something sinister but uncertain of the exact nature. The player arrives just after this torrent of evil has erupted in a great earthquake nearly leveling the town and turning wax into a sentient form of evil that is consuming the town.

The player interface and game play provides a hybrid approach of graphical adventure with on-screen movement touch points, puzzles and somewhat traditional hidden-object-style. Most of the hidden-object scenes are traditional while others differ in the need to combine tools to complete the scene. Word items displayed at the bottom of the screen in yellow are things that require special tools. The tools are found in the current scene and needed at the appropriate spot to complete the hidden-object scene. Objects collected in inventory at the bottom of the screen require the player to drop or drag them onto other items in the scenes to activate or complete needed tasks for progression.
