Cross of the Dutchman

Cross of the Dutchman is an action adventure game that puts the player in the shoes of the sixteenth century Frisian folks hero Pier Gerlofs Donia. No longer able to stand by and see how the foreign Saxons and Dutch make the lives of his people impossible, Pier rebels against their rule and forms a people’s army. The game tells the story of how he became the man (driven by hatred) he is remembered for after the death of his wife and son at the hands of a combined Dutch-Saxon host.

The player fight the enemies with his bare hands or Pier’s formidable two-handed sword, throughout the Frisian countryside. Frisia being a region in the north-west of the Holy Roman Empire along the North Sea coast, though the game takes place in the area today known as the Dutch province Friesland. As you make progress you collect gold, upgrade and improve your abilities and meet various historical figures. Gold can be used to buy things like upgrades, health and stamina potions.
